Troopers are tuned to be basically automatically Instant in the base game, but WotC displaced a lot of their spawns with new unit types, can randomly eat even more via Sitreps and Chosen, and I'm pretty sure it didn't change the threshold; I actually rarely hit Instant on the Trooper Autopsy in WotC.

That sounds like an intimidating T'leth setup, but Regular is a sufficiently big drop in Chosen and Avatar power in particular I wouldn't be worrying if it was me playing, honestly, certainly not enough to want to stall for All The Breakthroughs. You do you, though, of course.Ghoul Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15165232279081041131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3656428975201272042.post-3868296916713086952023-08-13T23:35:27.399-07:002023-08-13T23:35:27.399-07:00Well, it's nice to see you commenting, even if...Well, it's nice to see you commenting, even if I was kind of hoping you might know something about why it was happening that I could actually do something about. While burning through the last six autopsies that somehow hadn't reached instant I got three Breakthroughs I considered a waste of time when they'd be faster later, which I'm now wishing I'd done.

I probably don't *need* any of them, because even though the reason I spent long enough to hit this point is that instead of going up to Legendary I decided to do a "challenge" run where I turned on From Horizon, Beta Strike, the tutorial, and Lost Towers, and then also deliberately never hit a Chosen Stronghold, I also did it on Regular. And it's been fun rather than hard, but right now I'm staring at hitting T'leth with this setup, which was the entire point, and I'm hesitating. (Also, is it just me, or is it *really* weird that some of the autopsies that never hit instant included Troopers and Lost?)Beowolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09366631903399140957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3656428975201272042.post-69557403923500540452023-08-13T21:12:31.106-07:002023-08-13T21:12:31.106-07:00I only tested running out of Researches once and w...I only tested running out of Researches once and wouldn't be surprised if any number of unexpected interactions were missed by me, like with Chosen Sabotage hitting Research having a permanent effect or other such strangeness. I've also had some Geoscape elements sometimes seem to behave as if I'm on Legendary even though I'm not and no other elements are doing it, which I never identified a pattern to, so this may or may not be relevant. So I dunno!Ghoul Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15165232279081041131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3656428975201272042.post-38991418877147199282023-08-13T15:55:50.946-07:002023-08-13T15:55:50.946-07:00Been a while since I commented here, but something...Been a while since I commented here, but something happened that I want an opinion on. I'm not playing on Legendary yet, and for the first time I actually finished ALL my research and started getting guaranteed Breakthroughs.

I mentioned not being on Legendary because the Breakthroughs are taking ten days to research, not five or hopefully less.Beowolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09366631903399140957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3656428975201272042.post-17034346950903452432021-08-15T11:08:18.536-07:002021-08-15T11:08:18.536-07:00Aaah, I can see that, and it would fit to the Trai...Aaah, I can see that, and it would fit to the Training Center concept. Certainly more plausible than anything I've come up with.

Though I'm not sure how the Interchangeable Upgrades graphic would be the base -if indeed the Training Center icon involves a crossed pair of rifles, the proportions are noticeably longer/thinner than the Interchangeable Upgrades rifle graphic, even if I assume the upgrade-representing bits are removed.Ghoul Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15165232279081041131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3656428975201272042.post-12376156379785161452021-08-15T07:53:32.930-07:002021-08-15T07:53:32.930-07:00I think the Training Centre Construction icon is s...I think the Training Centre Construction icon is supposed to be a brain sitting on top of a pair of crossed rifles, with the pistol grips forming a chin.

It's odd because the rifles don't have thumbstocks - I wonder if they took the Interchangeable Upgrades graphic, rotated it, and tweaked it a bit.Ashley Pomeroyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09466311744358782337noreply@blogger.com
