YAM2R Randomized Run 2

Between the first and second videos you're missing about 20 minutes of me struggling to get a pixel-perfect walljump to get out of the Screw Attack area. I'll not be making the mistake of going to the Distribution Center without Spider Ball, Space Jump, or an early Screw Attack in future, yikes.

Also, these videos show off some of the other nice things the randomizer does I was mentioning, like doing away with certain Bomb blocks if you lack both Bombs and Power Bombs.

My previous run was actually the first time I'd used a Power Bomb to kill the Weapons Tester, instead of just using it to damage all the armor simultaneously. I suspect I'm going to be having fewer deaths to it in future, since a Power Bomb one-shots it if you've got the shield down. Just need to actually remember to do so in future... I could've avoided the death there if I'd thought of that.

While I got a mobility enhancer a lot earlier than the previous run, this was still a surprisingly constrictive setup. I dunno, maybe it makes for good videos, but I've never had this harsh of setups when I've not been recording.

I was really caught off guard at how much it hurt me to not have Spazer for the Queen Metroid, yikes. Though it didn't help that there was an unexpected interruption that broke my concentration, hence the notably lengthy pause shortly before I died. I'm also puzzled by the Queen moving so far forward she incidentally hit me with her head during one of the transitions. I've never seen that happen before.

Also, am I the only one that thinks Omega Metroids are the easiest Metroid type in the game? Obviously they hit hard and have high health, but between the weak point and their pattern just being really slow and predictable, with no defensive behavior equivalent to Zetas blocking attempts to hit their core, they really just seem overly easy to me, to the point I was surprised the last official patch reduced their health.
