Risk of Rain UO Miner

Finally!

The Miner is really, really bad at unlocking Origin. Glass and Spite together make just Crushing everything to death dangerous to try, and Distortion periodically takes it away anyway. Even though the Miner has two separate ways to get surprisingly lengthy invulnerability periods, he's really not that good at avoiding Spite Bombs because more than any other class in the game he's stuck mixing it up in melee, right where the Spite Bomb danger is at its most intense. Even the Mercenary is better at dishing out damage from safety!

The Miner is by extension particularly susceptible to Overloading. I had repeated runs where an early Overloading enemy was a death knell, Drill Charge and Backblast or no. In one case, I went from full to dead with no opportunity to do anything! Overloading enemies later on aren't quite so maddening thanks to rising HP, but unless you have insane luck like this run did they never stop being a problem for the Miner, it just shifts from 'risking immediately ending the run' to 'wearing you down, potentially faster than you can recover, until something-or-other gets you killed'. The other melee classes do have to be careful to play around Overloading enemies, but for the Miner they're outright nightmarish.

The only positive thing I can think to say about the Miner for an UO run is that all four of the Miner's moves are competent attacking moves that are mostly reasonable interchangeable in their utility (The only exceptions are that Crush is king of raw DPS if you're able to sit stably and that To The Stars is your only tool for striking from rope-based safety), making Distortion mostly actually an advantage thanks to it shortening the Miner's overly-long collective cooldowns.

And... that makes the last Risk of Rain video I'm particularly intending to do for a while. I'd like to show off co-op at some points, but not soon. We'll be moving back to Enforcer next, showing off its 'secret' highest difficulty.
